Everyone has to start somewhere...

I would like to thank you for your interest in our combined family tree.

I have to explain right off the bat that this tree would never have been started if it weren’t for my teenage son. This whole thing began as his sixth grade Social Studies project. He was to go back three generations, and enter any information that he could find regarding his relatives. I told him all of the information that I could remember about my family, and my ex-husband did the same. He also collected information from his step-father, to include him in his family tree. My early contribution was to open an account at Ancestry.com, which he used to do his research. He collected enough information to ace his project, and that was pretty much the end of his interest in the Ginn, Griffith, O'Brien Family Tree.

I asked him if I could take it over from there, and he agreed. Thus began an over five year love affair with researching the families. I made so many mistakes in the beginning, at first being obsessed with taking the tree back as far and as quickly as I possibly could. I merged so much crap into my tree it was unbelievable.  And much of it unusable...

Which brings me to the fact that I am hand keying this tree. I am double and triple checking sources, and if an individual is unsourced, they won't appear here. If you have any information that you would like to share with me, or people you would like me to add, please use the comments section below each blog post.

Some of the families already in the tree, all from my father's side (Ginn), are Ginn, Gray, Thoroughman, Stricklett, and Carrington.  Still to be entered are the families of Lane, Hardage, Strode, and Esham.

I work on this project almost every day, as work and my real life with my family permits.

The tree I am working on is located here: http://ginngriffithobrienfamilytree.com/

You do not have to login to see the information that is entered.  I do not have a login on my page.  The only information that guests are not allowed to see is information on living people.  Feel free to use any information I've cited, source as cggriffith, ginngriffithobrienfamilytree.com.
